I have decided to have neck surgery this week after 8 weeks of tremendous pain with a “big-ol” herniated disc in my neck causing right-side only neck, shoulder, and arm pain as well as a loss of strength in my right arm. I wrote “big-ol” because that’s how the PA described it to me (such is how we talk in the South).

In reality, I have had this problem since November of last year and physical therapy, meds, etc. have not provided any relief.

Apparently, surgery is a necessity and most people feel better immediately after surgery. I’m glad to hear that because I would love some physical relief.

I appreciate your prayers for me and for my wife during the next few days!

Proverbs 18:14 says: “A man’s spirit will endure sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?”* My spirit is NOT crushed and this is only physical pain! I thank God for the physicians that He has given us and for my doctor – “Father God, guide his hands by Your Spirit.”

-Mark (looking forward to being in heaven with a renewed, glorified body)

P.S. I won’t be able to do the Webinar this week so it’s postponed for 2 weeks! My apologies to Dr. Rick Thomas who totally understands and has been very gracious to me.

P.S.S. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 reminds us that there is a time to HEAL: There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.*
