When your spouse, your child, or someone else you love is running
from God, what are you to do? You are the one on whose heart God
has placed these people so that you can stand in the gap and
believe God for them. God does not give up on them that easily.
Jesus said that He would leave the 99 righteous to pursue the one
who is lost. Each one of these loved ones is precious to Him.
He does not desire that any would be lost but that ALL would come
to salvation through Jesus Christ.

Do you know what God’s Word says? We are to pray without
ceasing. Like the widow woman in Luke 18 who continuously
brought her case before the judge until he got tired of her and
gave her what she asked for, we are to continuously bring our
loved ones before God and remind Him of His Words.

Acts 16:31 says: “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will
be saved. You and your household.”

James 5:16 says: “The fervent prayers of the righteous person
avails much.”

Fervent means heartfelt or earnest. Cry out to the Lord for
those you love. Persist in prayer. Believe that God is able as
His Word says He is. Nothing is too hard for Him. With Him all
things are possible. No one is too far gone for Him to reach and

The most powerful prayer you can pray is the Word of God. God’s
is living and active. It is unchanging. It is directly
from His heart. Praying it back to Him is like reminding Him of
what He has said. God said His Word would not return void but
would accomplish all that it was sent to do. Jeremiah 23:29 says
that God’s Word is like a mighty hammer that smashes a rock to
pieces. Pray that God places His Word in front of your loved one
so that it can be used like a hammer to crack that hard wall
around their heart. Ezekiel 36:26-27 says that God will give
them a new heart, and will put a new spirit in them. He will
take out their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender,
responsive heart. He will put His Spirit in them so that they
will follow His decrees and be careful to obey His regulations.
It is God’s work to change the heart. It is your work to pray.

We must stand firm in our faith, pray without ceasing and have
faith that God is able to do all that He says He will do. Let
Him build your faith as you step out in obedience and trust Him
to rescue your loved ones from satan’s trap. Let Him restore
hope to your spirit as you respond with a mighty YES, LORD! Yes,
I will pray. Yes, I will believe. Yes, You are God and You are
able. I don’t know about you but I am sick and tired of the
enemy thinking he has the upper hand. I serve a mighty God who
says otherwise!
