Many times when I first begin to pray, all I can think to say is “Thank You!” to the Lord! Really, what else is there to say most of the time but “Thank You, God!”
There are so many thanksgiving verses in the Bible expressing gratitude to the Lord that I wrote an entire Appendix of references in The Heart of Addiction book and included only a portion of them. Gratitude is a key component of transformation (or as some alcoholics say, “recovery”). Since we have been saved from the penalty of our sins, what else do we need other than God’s forgiveness through Christ and his gift of eternal life. Anything else is simply icing on the cake of salvation! Ephesians 5:20 says: giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
As 2014 ends in a few hours, know that we at Truth in Love Ministries and The Addiction Connection are thankful to God for His blessings and thankful to you for serving, supporting, and/or receiving help from this ministry! We are grateful to serve hurting and hardened souls with the transforming truth of God’s gracious Word.
Happy New Year!
-Mark (thank you again!)
