Cottage Staff (men)
Salem4Youth – Salem4Youth Ranch is to provide a safe and nurturing, Christ-centered, environment where young men between the ages of 12-17 can learn life skills that will better prepare them to function successfully in society. We minister to them on the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual level, with emphasis on the spiritual.
Cottage Staff come alongside our youth and help maintain a structured and loving environment in a residential setting. Cottage staff seek to have Christ-centered relationships with our students and are committed to encouraging, empowering, and equipping them to work towards family reconciliation and building a Biblical worldview.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Educate and maintain consistency of expectations
- Monitor youth at all times
- Encourage personal responsibilities to be completed (homework, counseling assignments, laundry)
- Room compliance checks
- Personal safety searches
- Personal belongings searches
- Drug screens
- Record positive and negative behaviors on score sheets
- Assign and discuss consequences
- Perform restraints
- Provide nightly medications
- Heating and serving meals on weekends
- Transporting youth to and from events, church, and serving opportunities
