So many well-meaning people say things like, “Now, I know who I am in Christ?” But who is the focus of that question? The person is – “I” – is the subject. Therefore, I propose a better question:
“Do you know Who Christ is in you?”
What is the subject of that question? The answer is Christ.
So, more importantly than knowing who you are in Christ is knowing Who Christ is in you. Do you know Him?
I think you can see how important this issue is in biblical counseling. People must know Who Christ is in them. Colossians 3:3 says: “For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.“ – The Holy Bible : English standard version. 2001 (Col 3:3). Wheaton: Standard Bible Society.
