I thought this picture adequately describes what kind of problems we get ourselves into as sheep! Remember, no matter how wise we might think we become, we still need a Sheperd!
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” Jeremiah 33:3
Are you aware that God does speak to His children? When I first started praying I was unaware and did not believe how God is always speaking to His children. The Lord’s still small voice can be heard daily when we quiet ourselves and focus in on His Word. He will direct our steps and guide us in the way to go.
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow Me.” John 10:27
Remember the story of Elijah on the mountain? (I Kings 19:11-13) The Lord visited him and spoke to him… Notice though in the passage that there was a mighty wind, an earthquake and fire…. But the Lord spoke through a still small voice. Some translations use the word whisper.
When is the last time you really dialed in your ears to hear your Lord whispering to you?
What might you be missing due to religious activity or busied human effort?
Speak Lord, for your servants are listening….
AND WHEN HE SPEAKS….
“So as the Holy Spirit says: “Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts….” Hebrews 3:7,8
