Theme: AVOIDING BURNOUT & PERSEVERING IN ADDICTION MINISTRY

This November, we will gather as brothers and sisters who serve Christ in various roles in ministry to those struggling with addiction. Whether you’re a counselor, program director, executive director, administrative staff, spouse of leader, pastor, or serve in another capacity, you’re invited!

Who Are the Speakers?

Pastor Brad Bigney kicks off our event this year on Thursday evening. Dr. Howard Eyrich and Pastor Kevin Hamilton teach on Friday. Dr. Mark E. Shaw speaks on Saturday.

New this year, we will have several break-out sessions on a variety of addiction issues. Speakers to be announced.

What Makes The Summit Unique? Discussion Groups.

We want you to be involved. This event is a celebration of Christ and His body. We encourage you to make new friends. One way we do this is by having ample time for you to meet with your assigned Discussion Groups. In these groups, you’ll have a chance to get open and honest about the struggles of addiction ministry, seek advice on best-practices, encourage one another, and pray with each other. You’ll likely make deep friendships, but we hope you find a deeply-rooted family through The Addiction Connection’s incredible network.

New Discussion Groups this year:

  1. Married couples attending this event together have their own discussion group room focused upon marital stress and tension in ministry. There is limited space available to keep this group purposefully small. Led by Dr. Howard Eyrich and his wife, Pam, this will be an incredibly special time of intimacy and refreshment. To sign up for this, both spouses must attend.
  2. Deaf Biblical Counseling (DBC) has its own discussion room at this event for the deaf and hearing impaired community to participate in American Sign Language (ASL). Led by Pastor Kevin Hamilton (ACBC certified), this will be another incredibly intimate time of refreshment and a retreat for DBC members. Only those fluent in ASL are encouraged to participate in this group.

Where is the 6th Annual Leadership Summit?

Grace Fellowship Church (Florence Campus) is our gracious host again this year. Address: 9379 Gunpowder Road, Florence, KY 41042.

The Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter are both 30 minutes away from the church so plan to visit one or both if time allows. We encourage you to coordinate your visit with other Summit attendees if possible!

What is the purpose of this event?

This event combines teaching times centered upon the Word of God and interactive discussion group times to learn best practices from each other. Fellowship and friendships occur because the event is designed to encourage one anothering. Think of this as a celebration of Christ’s body around the world.

If I'm not a ministry leader, can I still come?

Yes! All believers are called to lead the world not follow it. Become a more committed follower of Christ and effective leader to others at this Summit. 

Who comes to the Summit?

In years past, we have had 30 states and 5 countries represented at the Summit. Our desire is to uplift you for the challenging work of addiction biblical counseling and to connect you to the body of Christ around the globe. Anyone may attend but we ask that you keep kindness and gentleness at the forefront of all of your interactions with others.

How should I dress?

Our dress is casual, comfortable, and modest.

Novembers in Northern Kentucky can be chilly so bring a jacket or light coat and you should be fine. Sometimes our facility is chilly inside so come prepared with a sweater or jacket to wear inside. Layers are always good!

Are meals provided?

Meals are NOT provided but we will provide bottled water, K-cup coffee, and light packaged snacks. There are also water bottle refilling stations at the church. You may bring extra snacks if you desire.

We have allowed ample time in the schedule for you to visit local restaurants with your friends. Please remember to reach out to any first-timers you meet and invite them to join you!

When I arrive, where do I go?

Summit Check-In begins at 4:00 PM (EST) on November 3. You may park in any lot and come in through Entrance C (follow the signs in the parking lot). There, you will be greeted by a volunteer to check in.

How do I check-in?

When you come into the building through Entrance C, there will be volunteers there to help direct you to where you need to go. Please do not wander through the facilities until you have completed the following steps:

  1. Check in and pick up your name tag. It is important that you wear the name tag at all times that you are in the facilities.
  2. Pick up your conference notebook.

After completion of the Check-In process, please go upstairs immediately to the Cafe or Auditorium spaces. Please DO NOT linger in the Check-In area.
